Overview: This Refractor Telescope model serves best for celestial observation. It has a battery-operated motor drive that assists in prolonged observation; it keeps the celestial objects in track. This model has also been assisted with many accessories that help the viewer to not only locate the desired objects but also bring them to study. KONUS Konustart-900 Telescope seems to suit best for the beginners. They fair good for lunar, star cluster and planetary observation but the Galaxy and Nebula are not been shown competitive. This Telescope supports Astrophotography and they are not suitable for terrestrial observations.
Type: This model belongs to the Refractor type of optical tube that has an aperture of 60mm. the focal length of this tube is 900mm.
Mount: It has an Equatorial mount that is sturdy and is best suited for astronomical observations. This sets the hands free during the observation and other activities like taking notes, photography and making adjusting are possible. It is also been found that there are two slow motion control knobs connected to the mount through the cables, by using the knob it is possible to track and follow the movement of the celestial bodies.
Optics: The objective lens of KONUS Konustart-900 1741 Refractor Telescope feature with anti-reflection multi-coating that produces flare-free images and enhances the light transmission ability. Also, found to have ‘Dew Shield’ that protects against dew during the cold weather conditions. Hence, it gives an undisturbed viewing.
Finderscope: The finder scope of this model is a red dot known as ‘Stardot’ that locates the objects in the sky. It points the focusing celestial object with a red dot. From that point, the adjustments can be made until clearer vision is obtained.
Eyepieces: Found in this Telescope is two eyepieces that are the additional and they too are multi-coated. It comes in two different sizes and magnification effect of 8mm (112x), 20mm (45x). This helps in observing smaller objects found in the sky.
Image Erector: Although stated that this model does not suit terrestrial observation, an option by way of image erector is available to make this happen. The 1.5x image erector is the lens that has the power of one and a half times, it also projects images in the straight angle.
Moon filter: Found in this model is the moon filter that is safe to view moon for longer time. It reduces the glare and the brightness that is harmful to eyes. The quality of the vision is been improved with better contrast.
Astrophotography: KONUS Konustart-900 Telescope is compatible for taking photos. It is battery operated and with the tripod support, taking photos of the celestial bodies are easy.
